This is the start of the Story of Olio’s LLC. In Early January of 2016 new ownership took over the lease of the site where Rodi Med American Grill once operated. Now called OLIO’S LLC, the dreamchild of local business owner, Jenny C. Carrington and now the owner, and long time employee of Rodi, John McCall coming in as the GM/KM/Patissier, has given this piece of history a FRESH, NEW FUNKY MAKE OVER! The past is the past, Olio’s is looking to the future. With fresh new paint and color inside the restaurant, to the funky listening lounge at the end of the bar with a vintage turntable unit and lps, Olio’s will offer its returning customers and NEW ones something different in Gastonia.
You will walk in and let your eyes feast on the art work for sale from wall to wall, shop through the small shop at the entrance for locally made gifts, amongst many other exciting things to look at. How about the up and coming in the spring fresh market at the front door area where you can buy in house made jams, jellies and marmalades, spice pouches, fresh salt mixes, fresh breads and rolls by our inhouse patissier, and seasonal fruits and veggies when available.
Along with all of that, Olio’s will be opening up a Garden Coffe and Tea Cafe in the Gem of Ashley where you can stop by mid morning from 8am to 1pm and have french pressed coffee, or tea along with a fresh scone or pastery. We are keeping in mind all of the customes wishes and desires and they fit perfectly with OUR DREAM.
ALL OF THIS IN one restaurant…YES! And the best part….The Agencies of Jenny C. Carrington which deal with Developmental Disabilities in Adults will be using the restaurant, cafe and shop to help employ her clients, to get them into the work world, give them a sense of accomplishment, & you our customers meet some REALLY WONDERFUL, AWESOME PEOPLE! You will be greeted daily by her clients and staff at the doors, and more.
This restaurant is ALL ENCOMPASING, and its here for you OUR CUSTOMERS! The newest, FUNKIEST, PLACE TO BE PART OF!
The menu at Olio’s will be fun, and FRESH! We will be using more local ingredients in our dishes: vegetables, chicken, beef etc. We kept a few of the original dishes and added a WHOLE NEW selection. We have a full in-house bakery filled with DECADENT DESSERTS by our own pastry chef. Feel free to come by and pick up some treats to take back home or to work, or sit a spell and enjoy a coffee.

Dinner: Tues – Thurs: 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Thurs – Sat: 4:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday Brunch: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Closed Sunday & Monday
Live Music: We will have live local muscians for special appearances now and then. This will not be an every weekend event to start with. Acts will vary, we want to be eclectic and world oriented. So one may never know.
